Volunteer Opportunity for Container Care:
Cylburn Arboretum Association

Goal of Position : Maintain quality of hanging baskets and container                               plantings around Cylburn Mansion.

Sample Activities :

Weekly watering of containers and hanging baskets on the porches and patios of the Cylburn Mansion, and deadheading, pruning, and fertilizing of plants when necessary. May also assist with the planting of the containers in early spring and the replanting in the fall.

 

Timeframe :

Number of Volunteers: 1 - 3 
Length of Commitment: May through October 1st 
Estimated Total Hours: 1 - 3 hours per week 
Scheduling: At the discretion of the volunteer (after training, same day/time)

 

Three shifts need to be filled for a total of three times a week that the plants are tended to.

 

Worksite : Cylburn Mansion

Qualifications Sought :

- Ability to work independently after training

- Some knowledge of general plant care is helpful

- Ability to work in a predominantly outdoor job that is not affected by rain

Additional Information :
          Ideally, this volunteer will work the same day and time each week, but will not be limited to business hours after initial training.
